1. The process content of gray iron parts that can be clearly expressed in a certain view or sectional view does not need to reflect all process symbols on each view to avoid symbols spreading throughout the drawing and overlapping with each other.

2. If the machining allowance size of gray iron is the same as the machining allowance size of the top, inner hole, bottom, and side, and is not marked on the drawing, it can be filled in the drawing process card on the back of the drawing or written in the technical conditions.

3. The same size casting fillet and equal angle draft angle of gray iron are not indicated on the drawing, and only specified in the technical specifications.

If the boundary line of the sand core of gray iron parts coincides with the part line, machining allowance line, and cold iron line, the boundary line of the sand core can be omitted.

5. The relationship between gray iron mold surface sand core line and processing allowance line varies in different factories.

6. Single piece gray iron, small batch products, and even some large-scale production factories draw casting process diagrams on product drawings to directly guide production.

7. The various process dimensions or data marked on gray iron parts should not cover the data on the product drawings, and should be easy for workers to operate and comply with the actual situation of the factory.

What are the maintenance measures for gray iron castings?

When not needed, the gray iron should be cleaned in real time, then coated with a layer of rust proof oil, covered with rust proof paper, and covered with the outer packaging of the gray iron table to avoid damaging the working surface of the gray iron.

To avoid overall deformation of gray iron, the workpiece should be removed from the gray iron, gray iron plate, and cast iron platform after use to prevent deformation of gray iron due to long-term pressure of the workpiece on the cast iron plate.

3. Gray iron parts should be inspected once a week according to national standards, and the inspection cycle can be 6-12 months depending on the specific situation.

What are the cleaning methods for gray iron castings?

Firstly, the cleaning personnel should follow the principle of urgency first and then slowness to clean the castings of each furnace.

Secondly, when cleaning the castings, check whether there are serious defects on the surface of the castings. If there are serious defects, but it is not possible to determine whether the casting is scrapped after cleaning, they should be reported to them in a timely manner.

In addition, the castings should not be damaged during cleaning. The edges and corners of the castings are damaged, and thin-walled castings cannot be struck with a sledgehammer.

4. When cleaning large and medium-sized castings afterwards, place them firmly and clean them thoroughly. When flipping, the hook should be securely fastened to prevent the casting from falling or colliding.
